What’s up, fellow Obsessives?

Congrats to all our New York friends for seeing history made last night! I’m not a Knicks fan, but I love watching Jalen Brunson play. Despite barely being over 6-feet tall, his drive and determination and quiet leadership is just inspiring. Definitely something for all of us to take into the studio and our lives every day.

A good way to tell if someone is obsessed with Orangetheory?

Their first move after booking a vacation or business trip is to open the OTF app and find the nearest studio … hopefully without an upcharge.

Or if you’re really obsessed, you find the studio and THEN book your lodging.

I thought about visiting OTF studios while traveling after seeing last week’s news that four Orangetheory studios will be coming to Rome over the next four years.

There are only four countries in Europe that currently have Orangetheories … Spain, Denmark, Germany and the United Kingdom. When I visited London in 2024, I was disappointed to see the closest studio was a 25-minute, two-transfer trip on the Tube away (a non-starter for me, which maybe calls my obsessive status into question).

But maybe that’s changing as the company and franchisees look for ways to grow. Europe is a tricky proposition as strip malls aren’t really a feature of many cities and the existing buildings have a much smaller footprint for a full studio.

The Rome studios will reportedly be adapted to those space challenges.

At any rate, I’d like to know the best Orangetheory you’ve ever visited on the road.

It’s so wild to enter those bizarro worlds. The instructors all have different names and faces. The class times might be a few minutes off from your home schedule. Even the vibes can vary in both good and bad ways.

But at the core, it’s still the same great workout with people there for the same reasons. You never walk away from the experience disappointed.
