What’s up, fellow Obsessives?
Welcome to the first edition of OTF Obsessed, a newsletter and community I’ve been batting around in my head for awhile. There aren’t many people in my life that are obsessed with OrangeTheory and so I’m here on the Internet in search of people who enjoy the workouts as much as I do.
Are you one of those people? Let’s be friends.
So what will this newsletter be? I’m not exactly sure yet. I know I’ll be sending it once a week, and it’ll include the issues and feelings we experience under the orange lights.
Tips to improve your workouts? We’ll have those.
Success stories from the community? You bet.
Humor and the best OTF memes? You can count on it.
Whatever this newsletter and community becomes, I promise you will have a direct hand in it. The strength of any OTF studio is in its wide diversity of people — people of all shapes, sizes, creeds and colors coming together to get better each day.
That spirit will be reflected here on OTF Obsessed.
So drop your email below or sign up for future newsletters now.
Let’s start building OTF Obsessed together.

🍊 How did you become Obsessed with OTF?
Everyone has taken a different route to becoming obsessed with OTF.
For me, it was a combination of three things.
Statistics: Splat points. Benchmarks. Class counts. I’ve been obsessed with tracking my numbers and improving them from class No. 1. I suspect I’m not alone on that front as OTF’s mix of tech and fitness has proved irresistible to people like me. I still love setting PRs even as I’m closer to age 50 than when I started and the inclusion of the class count on the app was a game changer. Knowing I’m one class closer to #1000 makes 4 am wakeups so much easier.
(Also, anyone remember when you had to bother someone working the desk to ask how close you were to your next milestone class?)Community: There’s nothing like the lobby of an OTF studio in the minutes of a class. I love that everyone is an equal, no matter their gender, age, height, weight or anything else that can make someone “different.” The vibes are always encouraging and it’s fun to see people come together for fundraisers and activities away from the studio. I’ve also been blessed to have a steady core of amazing coaches at my studio with almost no turnover. Two of the current coaches were there on my first day in 2018 and the other two are going on four years. They make all the difference.
Consistency: No matter the day or time, I know I’m going to get a good workout and sixty minutes of no screen time, pinging Slack messages or household chores begging for my attention. With a life that’s full of 100 other decisions to make and routines to set, OTF’s set workouts is one thing that never asks anything before or after. It’s a set stress reliever and one that’s worth every penny that I pay for my Premier membership.
So how about you? Why are you obsessed with OTF? Send me some reasons at [email protected] and I’ll include them in a future newsletter!

📆 The Week Ahead
🏃 Marathon Month is in full swing! I’m participating in the ultra competition, mostly because I want those socks but also because it was Marathon Month in 2022 that launched me toward entering and completing my first real marathon a year later.
🚣 500 meter benchmark row up ahead on Friday!

🥇 Milestones!
I’d love to end each newsletter with milestones from the community (PRs, 500th class, etc), but since this is the first newsletter, I don’t have any!
Who wants to be first? Hit me up at [email protected]
That’s it for the first issue! Hope you enjoyed it and don’t forget to tell a friend! 🍊
