What’s up, fellow Obsessives?

We’re into May! Hope everyone is feeling the good vibes and gains from a great start to 2026. Keep it going!

📅 The Week Ahead

Tuesday — 5️⃣ x 5️⃣ Signature Workout. Happy Cinco de Mayo!

One 👍 (and One 👎)

Recent weeks have brought two changes at my Orangetheory studio.

Let’s get into the good news first.

👍 Early entry is a great move

Some studios moved toward the early entry model over the past year, but a huge wave just adopted in the last week or so. That includes mine.

There’s no other way to put it: I love being able to get on the treadmill 5-10 minutes early and log in some additional distance. I’ve gone from running maybe .5 extra miles during warmup to a full mile or more.

For someone who usually attends the 4:55 am class, it really beats standing around bleary-eyed in the lobby with everyone else, waiting for the coach to come out.

It also adds value to my membership because I’m able to 10-15 percent more time in the actual studio than before. There aren’t many easier ways for locations to deliver that little bit extra, so I’m glad they took the jump.

The bad news, though, takes away value from my membership — at least in my eyes.

👎 I miss All Out Mayhem

To me, getting a week of intense workouts and the opportunity to earn another t-shirt made the month of May interesting. All Out Mayhem was the spring equivalent to Hell Week and I loved the challenge.

It seems, however, to have fallen victim to the eight-week “Season of Strength” weight program that’s already being marketed heavily.

August’s Marathon Month — which once inspired me to run an actual marathon — is also rumored to be no more in 2026.

I understand that companies change and that OTF is leaning into strength and weights in a big way this year. They’re likely also hoping it attracts new members during the slow summer membership months.

I’m skeptical it will do well. An eight-week program is going to be a tough sell during summer vacation, when a lot of OTF’s core demographics are busy heading off on vacations or running kids around from camp to camp.

Throw in the $35 upcharge and, well …

Then again, OTF doesn’t do a lot of things just 'cause. Their moves are informed by numbers and surveys, not anecdotal thumbs downs from me.

So we’ll see.

Are you looking forward to Season of Strength more than All Out Mayhem?

Or will you miss our usual May challenge?

The Key to Better aging: More NAD+

Most skincare works on the surface. Aramore goes where real aging begins: the basal layer of the skin, where new cells form. Backed by decades of research from Harvard and MIT scientists, Aramore is the first topical system designed to support skin’s NAD+ — the molecule your cells rely on for repair, energy, and resilience.

As NAD+ naturally declines with age, visible changes follow: dullness, uneven tone, fine lines, and loss of firmness. Aramore’s unique complex of NAD+ precursors, ketones, and fatty acids helps replenish cells at the source for skin that acts healthier and younger.

Clinically shown to improve tone, radiance, smoothness, and firmness as soon as 28 days.

🥇 Milestones and PRs!

• Congrats to Missy D. for setting a PR in her Dri-Tri last month!

“I shaved 41.31 seconds off of my 2,000 meter row, 2 minutes & 15 seconds off of my 300 body weight floor reps, & 4 minutes & 53 seconds off of my 3% incline 1.55 mile power walk! That's a total of 5:48:31 off of my last event 2 years ago!!!

• Congrats to Cory D. for breaking two miles on Everest for the first time and clocking in at 2.11! Way to get up and down that hill!

I have no idea if George Strait was really at Orangetheory Lubbock (and if he did a workout wearing his hat) — or if this is AI. What a time to be alive.
