What’s up, fellow Obsessives?

So in over six years of belonging to Orangetheory, I had never done two classes in one day. That changed yesterday when I followed a Hyrox with a Tread50.

My family and I are headed out on an OTF-less spring break destination, so I wanted to get at least one extra workout in before a six-day drought, plus I needed to prep for a half-marathon I’m running in late April.

Verdict? Exhausting, but rewarding. Slightly more difficult than a 90-min class. Won’t take me six years to do it again.

That said, no idea how some of you do that on the reg!

📅 The Week Ahead

No benchmarks or signature workouts are scheduled this week.

Checking In On Our 2026 Goals

Wednesday, April 1 will mark the quarter-length point for the year.

No foolin’.

I think it’s a good time for any Obsessive to sit down and assess how we’re doing with the 2026 goals that we set at the end of last year.

On one hand, we’ve had 90 days to set our routines and change our behaviors. We’re past resolution season and what’s working for the long run should be really clear.

On the other, there are still nine months left. So if we’ve lagged on any goal or haven’t even started it yet, there’s plenty of time to course correct.

With that in mind, I thought I’d check in on my own 2026 goals to see how I’m doing. As always, thanks for being an awesome accountability audience!

  • Attend at least 176 classes: That’s one more than I attended in 2025. I’ve attended 46 so far, which puts me on pace for what would be a career-high 184. I know there are people who attend a lot more or a lot fewer, but it feels like 3-4 times a week is the right amount for both my mind and body.

  • Go to one Tread50 per month: I set this because I really enjoy them. And I’m technically on track, having attended one in February and two in March.

  • 15 or more classes in 10 or more months: Three for three!

  • 🙃 Eating better: Let’s call this one a wash. I’ve worked in more protein and was one Bears playoff game and a margarita away from a dry January. I need to be more intentional on my day-to-day though.

  • Tracking my floor gains: This is why these check-ins are important. I haven’t done this at all. As always, I’m giving all my attention to my cardio life while neglecting any focus on weights. This needs to change.

  • Growing OTF Obsessed to 2,500 subscribers: I haven’t had much time to put into this one for a variety of reasons, so it’s the goal I’m furthest away from. In fact, I’ve only added about 30 or 40 new people. But I have a few big things planned and I’ll have more to share soon. (Until then, forward this email to a friend and get them to sign up!)

So that’s where I’m at with all of this. And here’s what I want everyone to take away from all of this. Goals are meant to provide direction. Checking in with them regularly matters, even if you know there’s going to be a red X next to a few of them.

Look, we set these goals because they meant something to us in December. And odds are, they probably still do. So take 5 or 10 minutes today to see where you are. Give yourself a high five for what’s working, set a plan to improve what isn’t.

Most importantly, remember that nine months are still in front of us.

We’ve got this.

🍊 OTF Obsessed Things

• Orangetheory president Lauren Cody talked with Business Insider about her daily routine, including her supplement stack and how she spends her rare downtime.

• If you like puttering around with AI and Claude like I do, a Reddit user made a MCP so you can analyze the analytics within your Orangetheory account. I’m not sure that it’s totally accurate — it was about 50 classes short for me — but it’s fun to play around with.

• I worked up a post comparing OTF to Barry’s.

• You may notice that I’ve changed some things design-wise both in the newsletter and on the website, any feedback is appreciated!

• One final thing: I’m planning on fully unplugging next week, so no nwessee you back here on Sunday, April 12!

🥇 Milestones and PRs!

No one emailed me to brag about themselves this week! I know someone out there must’ve posted a great mile time, so HMU at [email protected] to let me know!
